PSIA-AASI: Advisory Group Support

Overview:

I supported a task force to initiate programs to enhance organizational inclusivity.

Objective:

  • Cultivate an inclusive culture within the snowsports education industry through the organization's educational lens.
  • Transition from dialogue to tangible actions to drive strategic support.

My Role:

  • Collaborated with the CEO and the board member chairing the task force.
  • Managed all day-to-day aspects listed below.

Results:

  • Advocacy team formed and targeted programs created that drove a cultural shift towards inclusivity conversations and actions.
  • Education programs reached more than 1,000 educational leaders, fostering grassroots conversations on inclusion.
  • The "Women Belong on the Mountain" report catalyzed ongoing initiatives addressing gender-specific challenges in the snowsports industry and outdoor recreation.
  • A modest 2% increase signals tangible progress, promoting member comfort in self-identification and fostering diversity within the organization.
  • Updated certification standards prioritized people-skill fundamentals for a welcoming learning environment.
  • Inclusion now serves as a central focus beyond branding and is embedded in the organization's Ends (strategic plan) for sustained leadership and financial commitment.
